Jeffrey R. Cole, MD, FACS

Dr. Jeffrey R. Cole, M.D., is a Board-Certified General Surgeon and an active Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. He has practiced general surgery for seven years, and in addition to his practice, serves as Medical Director of the DeKalb Regional Wound Care Center, and as Medical Director of the DeKalb Ambulance Service.

Dr. Cole is a native of Fort Payne, the son of Randall and Barbara Cole. He graduated from the University of Alabama Medical School in Birmingham, and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Kentucky Medical School in Lexington, Kentucky (Chandler Medical Center). He is a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College and Fort Payne High School.

Dr. Cole is married to Dr. Ashley Cole, M.D., who is Board-Certified in Emergency Medicine and serves as Medical Director of the DeKalb Regional Medical Center Emergency Department. Dr. Cole and his wife met while they were in their residency programs at the University of Kentucky Medical School.

Outside of their life at the hospital, Dr. Cole and his wife enjoy traveling, and supporting Alabama football and Kentucky basketball. They are animal lovers and enjoy spending time with their two dogs, Dante and Nicco.

They had their first child in April, 2019.
